ISKCON, who wished to build a temple of peerless beauty for the worship of the metaphysical brothers Krishna and Balaram in a similar village where they played more than five thousand years ago. Srila Prabhupada directly supervised all the details of design and construction and personally asked the Lord to come and accept the prayer of His worshippers from around the globe. He said, "Lord Balaram is the genesis of spiritual power, and I have constructed this temple just to give power to the worshippers."
Shri Radharaman Ji made an appearance in the Samvat 1591. The temple was constructed in Samvat 1645. Close by is the Samadhi of Shri Gopal Bhatt Ji, who built the temple and service of Shri Radharaman Ji. Story: When he was 30, Gopala Bhatta Gosvami came to Vrindavana. After Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's exit, Gopala Bhatta Gosvami felt deep detachment from the Lord. The Lord guided Goapala Bhatta in a dream, "If you want my darshan, then come to Nepal."
In Nepal, Gopala Bhatta took a bath in the popular Kali-Gandaki River. After putting his waterpot in the river, he was amazed to see different Shaligrama shilas enter his pot. This is how he located the Shaligram. A very gripping incident related to his appearance is popular. Shri Gopal Bhatt Ji Maharaj was doing the service of Shri Shaligram Ji with all of his heart and purity.
Once Shri Gopal Bhatt Ji perceived the strong desire that "If the feet, hands, and other parts of my Shaligram Ji could be seen, then even I could decorate him with ornaments." This is what took place. Shri Shaligram Ji showed his leela. On the next day, when Shri Gopal Bhatt Ji went for routine service, he witnessed the feet, hands, and face. He was filled with immense joy!

The temple is devoted to Goddess Parvati, in her Katyayani form. Following the legends, her hair descended here when Lord Vishnu cut her dead body. Some people admire her as Goddess Uma here. So, the temple is also popular as Uma Shakti Peeth or Uma Devi Mandir.
In Katyayani Shakti Peeth Vrindavan, the sword of the Devi, known as Uchawal Chandrahaas, is also revered. Every year, generally during Navratri, the temple is crowded with pilgrims who visit to pray to Goddess Katyayani and seek her blessings.
