The Sacred City of Ayodhya

AYODHYA is a city located on the banks of the Sarayu River in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is the regulatory headquarters of the Ayodhya district as well as the Ayodhya division of Uttar Pradesh.

The term "AYODHYA," which signifies "not to be fought against," is derived from the king Ayudh, who is considered to have been the first forefather of Shree Ram. AYODHYA has been glorified with a combined culture. Positioned on the bank of the river Saryu, the old city of Ayodhya is the motherland of Shree Ram, the seventh avatar of lord Vishnu. Ayodhya is admired as one of the seven Mokshdayini Saptpuris or the seven noble thirth of Hindus. The legendary city invites spiritual seekers with its eye-pleasing ghats, amazing temples, and beautiful aartis. The Atharva Veda defines it as the indomitable city of gods and equivalent prosperity of heaven.

Shree Ram Temple

Rama Temple is standing tall at 161 feet, and its three floors are supported by 318 pillars comprising precisely carved idols of Hindu gods. The approximate width of the temple is 140 feet, expanded over 69 acres, The temple will have different areas where supporters are allowed to sit and pray. The structure is designed to clear the way for devotees with a parikrama around the sanctum sanctorum. The temple also comprises a feature of Singh dwar, a garbhagriha, Nritya dwar and Ranga mandapa. Also being constructed in the locality of the temple are a cowshed, a resthouse, a Vedic institute, and other religious buildings.

Hanuman Garhi

It is suggested that you visit the second most significant temple in Ayodhya. The sound structure with bulwarks in each angle marks the holy place devoted to Hanumanji, a devotee and powerful protector of Shree Ram. Pilgrims had to first go to the Shree Ram mandir. The story is that Hanuman Ji is also a protector of Ayodhya from his standpoint on Ramkot.

Valmiki Bhawan

The philosopher Valmiki commemorated the narrative of Shree Ram's life and times in his great saga, The Ramayana. The marble walls at Valmiki Bhawan, another famous place occupied with devotees and tourists alike, are carved with shlokas of the story of the Ramayan as defined by the philosopher.

Chakra Harji Vishnu Temple

Supreme among the temples near the Guptar Ghat is the Chakra Harji Vishnu temple. The structure comprises an idol of a number of deities, comprising a really old sculpted idol of Vishnu with a chakra and a pair of imprints, which is considered to be Ram's.

Ram Rekha Temple

The Ram Rekha temple is considered to have stood as a resting place for the attendants of the vivah of Shree Ram and Sitaji. As the fellow-travellers grew exhausted and dehydrated, Shree Ram is believed to have satisfied their thirst by making a line by letting an arrow hit the ground, generating a holy water body popular as the river Ramkrekha, and the place is now recognised as the Ramrekha teerth.
